The oil pressure sensor on the 2007 Chevrolet Impala is located in the side of the block. It features a three-wire connector. It senses oil pressure and sends the pressure signal to the gauge, so the driver can tell if the oil pressure is too low. If the oil pressure is low, the engine could be low on oil. Because of leaks, the oil pump might not be working properly, or the crankshaft may have a crack in it. No matter the problem, it must be repaired. The Impala cannot run without proper oil pressure for long, as the engine will seize.
Jack up the front of the Impala with the floor jack and support it with jack stands. Locate the oil pressure sensor on the side of the block. Unplug the wiring harness connector.
