Ford vehicles such as the Ford F-150 are equipped with transponder key capabilities that allow you to program them electronically to your engine. Once programmed, only one of these smart keys or chip keys can be used to start your engine.

You can reset these anti-theft keys in just seconds from your driver’s seat and use the reset codes immediately. Resetting one key requires two originally programmed keys to complete the process.

Step 1

Insert your first programmed key into the car’s ignition and turn it to the “On” position.
